Good morning! I know that today was the first real opportunity you've had to read your book in class, so we're going to do things a little differently. Typically, I will provide a prompt for you to respond to, but for now I want you to discuss how you decide what book you want to read. Try to give some detail to your response. I don't want to just see one or two small sentences. When you have submitted your response, you can respectfully comment on the posts of your peers. Let's see if we can have some fun with this!

I try to look for books my friends say they like because it helps me find out the type of genre i like or i will read the back of books to find whats interesting
I like books that have something to do with athletics, mystery, and sometimes romance. It depends. I tend to stick with books that I can relate to and that I take interest in. I try to switch it up as much as possible.
I pick genres that look familiar or involves something I like to do. I also pick books about games I play and other books to help me be better at the game. I like to read about survival and nature. One survival author I liked was Gary Paulsen, the book I read of his was Hatchet.
I try to find sports history books like basketball or baseball or I like to find books that have series.
I ask my friends if they have any suggestions. If they do then I'll check it out but if they don't I go for the ones but on display. The ones that are best sellers and the ones but out because there the best books in the store. I think those books always turn out good and I usually love the books that I get.
