Here we are at the start of another week of distance learning. I know this hasn't been easy or ideal, but most of you are doing great and I am so proud of you. Today, after you complete your reading, I want you to respond here with a friendly letter to one of the characters in your book. In your letter, I want you to give your "friend" (the character) a little update on what your life has been like for the last three weeks or so. I do not want to see short, choppy sentences or entries that say something to the effect of, "I haven't been doing anything." You need to be detailed. This should be at least a paragraph or two.
Next, you will talk about your "friend's" (again, the character you are writing to) current situation. Describe, in detail, a major event that he or she just experienced and how it was handled. Also, include your feelings on the matter and the way it was taken care of. Again, this needs to be rich in detail. This too should be at least a full paragraph or two.
Keep in mind that a friendly letter always includes the date, a greeting, a body, a closing, and your name. If you do not have all of these, you will lose some points.
Have fun and I can't wait to see what you write!

Dear John,
It's me, your best friend Brett. How have you been doing? I have been pretty good, but it has been a big struggle lately due to the virus down here. I have been having a hard time with the hybrid days. On hybrid days we only go to school 2 days a week and 3 days we do school work at home and I get distracted to much at home and never really do good on the assignments. I have been coming to school even when it isn't in session so that I can keep my grades up.
How is your new home? Since you moved, I haven't really had anyone…

I wanted to start this off by asking how you are doing. I'm struggling but i'm getting through it. i've been struggling with motivation lately, to do anything. Could be because I got off of my head medicine. I really don't know. I have been making friends online now, through video games. I've taken to reading online, but i'm not sure if it would count as an actual book. I have been spending a lot of time with my birds recently, they keep me calm, and offer an escape when things get hard. I guess that's really all that has been happening, definitely nothing noteworthy or extraordinary.

Dear Stevie,
How are things going. Right now we are in distance learning in school because of COVID-19. During this distance learning I haven't been doing much, I do my work during the day (or at night it just depends) and I go to practice everyday. Some days we have our games and right now our season is going pretty well. We won the Clark County tournament. We also, luckily, have not had to quarantine or anything like that. I hope everything is going good with you.
Sincerely,
Allie Ruffcorn
